Axis welcomes referrals from health professionals within Shropshire, including Telford & Wrekin. Please send a brief letter of referral to our head office in Shrewsbury. We will also consider referrals outside of the county but clients will need to be fully funded. Please contact our Shrewsbury office to discuss current fees.

If you are not registered with a GP or health professional within Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin then you will have to arrange full cost of your therapy. If you are in an adjacent county i.e. Powys, Staffordshire, Cheshire, Clwyd, Herefordshire you may be able to arrange funding via your local Clinical Commisioning Group or funding from another agency. It may be that your CCG has arrangements with other providers in your area. Try contacting your own GP.
Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC)
If you have been raped or sexually assaulted in the past ten days you may wish to contact a Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC). The nearest is at The Glade in Wellington, Shropshire – http://www.theglade.org.uk/
You may be feeling scared, confused and isolated. The SARC and Axis are here to help you. We have a team of specially trained and dedicated staff who understand what impact rape and sexual assault can have on people’s lives. SARC and Axis aim to help you recover both physically and emotionally from your experience.
You can take these steps…..
- Contact the freephone SAARC telephone number 0808 178 2058 (24 hours a day)
- If you are in danger it is important that you contact the police. If it is an emergency call 999. If it is not ring 101 and you will be put through to your local police service. Alternatively find a safe place to stay.
- If you need to escape a dangerous situation but have children or other responsibilities that prevent you from leaving please call Axis ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Advisor) service on 01743 243007 or 01952 586790. We have links to other agencies that can help find you a safe place to stay. You can also call the police.
- If you have serious injuries you must seek immediate medical help.
We may need to break confidentiality if we believe you or someone else is at risk of serious harm, We would keep you informed of this wherever possible. We will need to share information with other agencies if we believe a child has been or is at risk of serious harm.
