How We Help

Axis helps women, men and children over the age of 11 who live in Shropshire/Telford & Wrekin who have suffered the trauma of sexual abuse in childhood, or rape and sexual assault. We also see family members and partners of victims who have suffered sexual trauma.

We operate an equal opportunities and diversity policy. However we are unable to offer our services to perpetrators of abuse.

Counselling

Our counsellors will deliver a planned programme of one to one counselling sessions that will help you understand more about your own situation, how and why this is impacting on your life and give you the tools to be better able to cope.

ISVA

As a victim of sexual violence you may experience a wide range of emotions and reactions - some of these maybe very extreme such as fear, anger, shame and humiliation; other feelings of guilt, self-blame, numbness and helplessness are no less damaging. You do not have to cope with this alone, Axis’ Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) team are trained to help and support you in any decisions you need to make.
