What is abuse?

Abuse happens within all social classes, races and religions. Sexual abuse can take many forms:

  • Sexual Touching
  • Indecent exposure
  • Fondling – oral or genital
  • Intercourse
  • Exposure to pornographic material
  • Internet

Both boys and girls are sexually abused. This may happen many times or just once, but leaves a lasting impression. Children naturally trust adults. Sometimes adults betray that trust by making the child insecure and depressed and this may lead to many other problems later in life.

Counselling Service

We aim to provide a warm, friendly and safe place for clients to come and explore their issues with counsellors who are empathetic and non-judgemental.

ISVA

The service is available to male and female victims, aged 11 years and over, and the parents of victims aged 10 and below.

The Healing Process

The healing process is a long and complex one which will be difficult at times and requires courage and commitment.

Counselling Service

In adult life the psychological effects of past abuse can manifest themselves in many ways, which many won’t associate the cause of them with childhood sexual abuse.

We have offices in Shrewsbury and Telford where you will be in a safe and secure environment and you can take that first step.
