Axis has provided the most incredible start to my counselling career, and I couldn’t be more grateful for this experience. From the recruitment process to working within the organisation, it has been very clear that this new project has been extremely well thought out and implemented, with the team frequently seeking feedback from this first cohort to ensure improvement for the next. The induction training was intense, but absolutely needed when you come into this field. In terms of support, I have never felt alone or unsure because I have access to an incredibly experienced team, including my line-manager, supervisor, the wider counselling team and support staff. The experience has been further enhanced by being one of seven counsellors-in-training: it’s been interesting to work with students from other modalities. I have been seeing clients for 3 months now and the sessions can be challenging, but also hugely rewarding and I have learnt so much about professional practice and who I am as a counsellor. Overall, I feel valued, supported and very much part of the Axis team.
